Next step in construction of Kormoran II type ships

The construction of modern military ships of the Kormoran II type is entering the next stage. The keel laying ceremony for ORP Czajka (606), the sixth mine destroyer of this type, will take place on December 16.

Construction of this ship began on October 15, and it is the third unit currently under construction, alongside the future ORP Jaskółka (604) and ORP Rybitwa (605). The launching of the first one took place in June this year, while the launching of the second one is planned for 2025.

Construction of the Kormoran II-type mine destroyers began 10 years ago – on April 25, 2014, with the laying of the keel for the prototype ship ORP Kormoran. Since then, Remontowa Shipbuilding, in cooperation with PGZ Warshipyard and the Research and Development Center of the Marine Technology Center, has been consistently working on successive vessels of this series. Between 2017 and 2023, three ships – ORP Kormoran (601), ORP Albatros (602) and ORP Mewa (603) – were delivered to the Polish Navy.

From the very beginning, our company has had the honor of participating in this prestigious project, providing hydraulic systems along with deck equipment. The hydraulic drives of these ships are supervised by the Polish Register of Shipping.

We would like to thank our Partners for the opportunity to participate in this extremely important project, which strengthens the defense capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces and supports the development of the Polish shipbuilding industry.
