The Industrial Department has designed and created a station for testing the expansivity and tightness of composite tanks for the transport of CNG and hydrogen. The capacity of the largest tested tanks can be up to 600 l and the maximum pressure is 2500 bar.
The design of the workplace ensures safe operation also in case of breakage of the test vessel. Water (8,000 l) circulates in a closed circuit and it is filtered and conditioned on a regular basis.
The tank testing program includes:
– filling with water
– fully automatic examination
– emptying
– drying.
