Another hybrid ferry from CRIST SA handed over to the Finnish operator

On 22 January, another hybrid ferry P 317 for Finnish ferry operator Finferries left the CRIST shipyard. The vessel will operate on the Nauvo-Korpoo route in Finland. The ship measures 70 meters in length and will be able to accommodate up to 52 passenger cars or a combination of semi-trailers, trucks, coaches and cars, as well as up to 200 people. The ferry is double-sided, allowing for faster loading and unloading. This is the third hybrid vessel FinFerries has ordered from CRIST shipyard in Gdynia. The first of these was the famous 96-meter Elektra, which is at the same time the first hybrid ferry in the European Union and the second in the world.

Thanks to long-term cooperation with CRIST, Hydromega designed, supplied and manufactured an innovative electro-hydraulic drive for lifting/lowering ramps, deck covers and anchor winch. The main elements of the system are, among others, power supplies, electrical switchboards, controllers and operator panels. The system is designed to ensure high reliability. In addition, our Service Department installed the hydraulic system (piping) with pulsation flushing using the latest HAMER 1000 technology. The whole system fits perfectly into the project’s objectives in terms of reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing energy consumption.

We would like to thank our colleagues from the CRIST shipyard and the employees of our company for the successful implementation of this project.
