Czajka, Jaskółka i Rybitwa are the names of the next “Kormoran II” type mine destroyers that will soon join the Polish Navy’s fleet. These vessels, like the earlier ships of the series, are designed to search for, identify and combat sea mines. Their operations will include the Polish economic zone and missions in tactical groups in the Baltic and North Sea, as part of teams of NATO and EU vessels.
Construction of the Kormoran II-type mine destroyers began 10 years ago, on April 25, 2014, with the laying of the keel for the prototype ship ORP Kormoran. Since then, Remontowa Shipbuilding, in cooperation with PGZ Shipyard and the Marine Technology Center Research and Development Center, has been consistently working on successive vessels of this series.
Our company has had the honor of participating in this project from the very beginning, supplying hydraulic systems along with deck equipment. The hydraulic drives of these ships are supervised by the Polish Register of Shipping.
We thank our Partners for the opportunity to participate in this important project for the Polish Armed Forces and shipbuilding industry.
