Precise motion control where there is no room for error

Our company also undertakes challenging projects involving the transport of people and cargo—in this case, an elevator operating at the interface between two environments: land and seawater. The system’s drive is subject to strict regulatory requirements, ensuring a high level of safety, redundant safeguards, and resistance to harsh environments.

The system consists of a pair of hydraulic-powered rope winches mounted on a common frame anchored at the edge of the platform shaft. Each winch has its own hydraulic motor with a reduction gear and brake. Mechanical synchronization of rotation ensures smooth operation of both units, and single-layer grooved rope drums enable stable rope guidance and maintain a constant speed of movement – approximately 7 m/min in both directions.

The hydraulic unit is mounted on an oil tank with a capacity of approx. 100 dm³ and is driven by a 7.5 kW electric motor. The system is equipped with electronic temperature and oil level control, as well as a heater that allows the system to be started at low temperatures. An additional safety feature is a drip pan with a capacity that allows the tank to be completely emptied without the risk of leakage into the shaft.

This project demonstrates how we combine power hydraulics with a well-thought-out mechanical design to create systems tailored to specific operating conditions.
