SELF-DEPLOYING CONTAINER SYSTEM – NO CRANE REQUIRED

The Self-Deploying Container System is one of the solutions developed by Hydromega Sp. z o.o. as part of its R&D activities, successfully commercialised, introduced into production and currently used in real-world applications.

The system increases the operational autonomy of containers, reducing their dependence on external heavy lifting equipment. Thanks to its integrated hydraulic system, the container can be independently unloaded, lifted and precisely deployed at its destination.

Hydraulic system integrated into the container structure
The solution has been designed for permanent installation in 20-foot containers. The system forms an integral extension of the container structure, functioning as its own support system – “legs” that remain fully retracted within the container outline during transport.
The system consists of four independent hydraulic units installed at the container corners. Each unit is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder responsible for extending and lifting the container. The design allows installation between standard container corner fittings compliant with ISO 1161, without compromising the functionality of the container or its transport capabilities.
When retracted, the system components remain within the container outline, making the solution fully compatible with road transport without increasing the external dimensions of the unit.

Autonomous unloading and levelling
The system allows the container to be delivered to any location accessible by road transport and then independently positioned without the need for external lifting equipment such as truck-mounted cranes or other cranes.
An integrated inclinometer enables precise measurement of the ground inclination and automatic container levelling. The system provides levelling accuracy of 0.1°, with an allowable ground inclination of up to 2.0°.

Automation and control
An advanced automation and monitoring system is a key element of the solution.
The operator controls the system using an ergonomic wired control panel with a display, providing real-time monitoring of operating parameters. The central control cabinet, integrated with the inclinometer system, is designed for installation inside the container.

The system operates in two modes:
automatic mode – providing a controlled process of container lifting, levelling and lowering,
service mode – enabling system servicing and diagnostics.

Safety first
The system has been designed with a strong focus on safe operation and long-term reliability.
The operator can control the process from a safe distance while maintaining full visibility of the operating parameters on the control panel display.
The system incorporates, among other features:
• dual protection against unintended lowering of the container from the raised position,
• a hydraulic cylinder locking system preventing unintended cylinder extension during transport,
• independent hydraulic units for each container corner,
• a position monitoring and container levelling system.
The system is designed for long-term operation in demanding outdoor conditions and across a wide ambient temperature range from -30°C to +50°C.
